– Recurrent episodes of demyelination and remyelination of peripheral nerves lead to concentric proliferation of Schwann cells around axons, aka “onion bulb” formations 

“Onion bulb” formation is typically seen with inherited demyelinating disorders (CMT1A, HNPP) and CIDP
