Queston #19728Note

The Posterior choroidal artery arises from the P2 segment of the posterior cerebral artery (PCA) and it supplies the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN). Lesions lead to vision changes, variable sensory loss, weakness, and memory impairment.

The Thalamogeniculate (inferolateral) artery also originates from the P2 segment of the PCA yet it supplies the medial geniculate nucleus (MGN). Note that the polar artery originates from the posterior communicating artery and the paramedian artery originates from the P1 segment of the PCA.
