There are 7 different types of aphasia, which can be differentiated from each other based on verbal fluency, comprehension, and repetition. While both Wernicke’s aphasia and transcortical sensory aphasia have impairments in comprehension with intact fluency, transcortical sensory aphasia classically has preserved repetition.
