Trochlear nucleus sends fibers to the contralateral superior oblique

It is the only cranial nerve to exit dorsally from the brainstem and decussates prior to exiting the brainstem
– Trochlear nerve exits the dorsal brainstem at the level of the inferior colliculus and has the longest intracranial course of any cranial nerve, making it prone to injury.
