Queston #14089Note

autoimmune antibodies

The patient in the associated question is presenting with encephalitis secondary to leucine-rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI-1), voltage-gated potassium channel (VGKC) antibodies. Patients with this autoimmune disease often present with faciobrachial dystonic seizures, as described in the question stem. These movements often have no clear EEG correlate on scalp EEG recordings due to the small region of seizure activity.
