Queston #25231Note

The EMG video associated with this question shows a single high amplitude, prolonged, polyphasic motor unit action potential (MUAP) with activation. Finding only one MUAP with activation suggests a severe decline in neuronal recruitment. When there is an axonal injury to a nerve, the uninjured neurons will sprout additional axon terminals to the denervated muscles to restore their function. This leads to several changes to MUAPs such as increased amplitudes and polyphasic morphology.
