Radiculopathy

Patients with L5 radiculopathies can have weakness of the tibialis anterior, tibialis posterior, peroneus longus, extensor hallucis longus, extensor digitorum brevis, gluteus medius, and tensor fascia latae muscles. The iliopsoas, hip adductors, and quadriceps are affected by L3 and L4 radiculopathies. The gastrocnemius, biceps femoris, and gluteus maximus are most likely to be affected by S1 radiculopathy.
