Queston #6703Note

Electrocerebral inactivity (ECI) testing is a specialized type of EEG performed to assist in prognostication for possible brain death. ECI testing must be done with very specific parameters. Tap testing is done to test the integrity of the electrodes and must be done prior to ECI testing. The sensitivity must be set to <2 uV, and double distance (10 cm) is needed between electrodes, not triple. The interelectrode impedances should be between 100 and 10,000 Ohms
